Diabetic Shoe Program

If you have diabetes, proper foot care is essential. Diabetes can reduce circulation and sensation in your feet, increasing the risk of ulcers, calluses, and infections. The Diabetic Shoe Program was created to help prevent these complications by providing access to high-quality, medically approved footwear.

Through this program, Medicare and some insurance plans (Anthem) may cover:

  • One pair of diabetic shoes each calendar year
  • Up to three pairs of custom inserts
  • A professional fitting and foot evaluation

To qualify, patients must have diabetes and one or more of the following conditions:

  • Peripheral neuropathy (loss of sensation)
  • Poor circulation
  • Foot deformity (such as bunions or hammertoes)
  • History of foot ulceration or amputation

Our team will guide you through the entire process — from the medical evaluation and certification to measuring, fitting, and receiving your shoes.

The Foot Center is a not affiliated or endorsed by the US government or the federal Medicare program. Please call our office to verify eligibility.
